GIVE A DONATION

We rely solely on the kind generosity of donations & grants from the general public and organisations to support the needs of our nursery, planting projects and ongoing development of the trust. We welcome donations from any individual, organisation or company interested in supporting our vision of 'hands on community land care'. Your donation will enable our community nursery to eco-source and propagate native plants which are then provided to eligible local community re-vegetation projects. These projects create islands of native bush which in turn provide a sanctuary for native wildlife.

Benefits of Your Donation:
• making a difference
• helping to reintroduce native plants into local sites
• assist in the restoration and conservation of natural landscapes
• support of local community groups and their planting projects
• 100% tax deductibility
• charitable giving increases happiness in people

GET INVOLVED

Volunteers play an integral part in our work and we welcome anyone interested in native habitat restoration. We've had helping hands from awesome locals of all ages, youth groups, schools and even visitors alike. Help us re-build native habitats one plant at a time, get your hands dirty and enjoy being out in the fresh air. Your help can really make a difference.

At Our Nursery

We always need volunteers at our community-based native plant nursery off Mt Aspiring Road, by the shores of Lake Wanaka. Regular work days at the nursery teach propagation/cultivation techniques, leading on to planting and nurturing of the young plants in the wild and is guided by our Nursery Manager, Andrew Penniket. Nursery volunteer days are open to all members of the public and are held every Tuesday & Wednesday from 9am-1pm (Summer 2012). We provide Venus coffee, tea and snacks for all our volunteers and you also get the chance to soak in the views on our newly-built deck.

To volunteer, please contact Andrew on 021 342 187

At Our Planting Days

Our planting days are a popular favourite to see first hand where the plants from the nursery are going to. It's usually held on a Saturday (morning/afternoon; dependent on season) and is advertised the week before on our website, on the Wanaka Community page, on air at Queenstown/Wanaka's MoreFM, and in the Messenger. Planting days are held on a project site, such as our very own Waterfall Creek Re-vegetation Project or in support of a local community project that uses our plants. You'll also get a chance to meet fellow supporters of the trust and do some network building.
